Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 16, 2026

Squify ("we", "us") cares about your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use and share it, and the rights you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account information: the email address, name, and profile picture you provide when you register or sign in with Google, plus account settings such as your language preference.

Your content: materials, question sets, activities, templates, images, and audio you create or upload, and the prompts you submit to AI features along with their results.

Student results: the nickname a student enters when joining an activity and their responses. Students do not need an account, and we do not ask students for other identifying information.

Subscription and payment information: payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy. We only receive information such as subscription status, plan, billing dates, and Lemon Squeezy customer and order IDs. We never receive your full card number.

Usage and technical information: AI usage, feature activity logs, IP address, browser and device information, and error logs, used for operations and security.

2. How We Use Information

We use this information to: provide, maintain, and improve the Service; verify your identity and keep your account secure; track plan limits and AI usage; process subscriptions and billing; respond to your requests and send service-related notices; detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and security incidents; and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use Your Content for advertising unrelated to providing the Service.

3. Third-Party Services

To provide the Service, we share information with the following service providers only as needed. Each is governed by its own privacy policy:

Supabase (authentication and database); Cloudflare R2 and Supabase Storage (image and audio storage); OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Replicate (AI text, image, and audio generation); Lemon Squeezy (subscription payments and taxes); Google (sign in with Google).

Beyond these cases, we only disclose your information with your consent, when required by law, or when necessary to protect the rights and safety of us, our users, or the public.

4. AI Data Processing

When you use AI features, your prompts and related content are sent to AI service providers to generate results, and are handled under those providers' API terms.

Please avoid entering names, contact details, or other identifying information about students or others in your prompts.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your language preference, and protect security. These cookies are required for the Service to work. We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Retention and Deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your own content in the Service at any time. To delete your account, email us at louisyang1101@gmail.com.

After your account is deleted (including at your request, or under the Terms for long inactivity or violations), we delete or de-identify your personal information and content within a reasonable period. Billing records we must keep by law, and information needed to resolve disputes or prevent abuse, are kept only as long as necessary. Data in backups is deleted when the backup rotation cycle ends.

Under the Terms of Service, after notice we may delete unused images and audio that exceed the free plan limit. That deletion applies only to those media files and does not remove materials or activities that are still in use.

Copies of marketplace content that other users have already imported belong to those users and are not deleted along with your account.

7. Security Measures

We take the following measures to protect your personal information:

Organizational and personnel measures: we maintain rules for handling personal information, limit access to the operator only as needed, and regularly review how information is handled.

Technical measures: encryption in transit (HTTPS), account authentication and access control, restricted database access, and security settings that prevent unauthorized access.

Physical measures: data is stored in data centers operated by cloud providers with physical security controls.

However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If a data breach affects your rights, we will report it to the authorities and notify you as required by law.

8. Children and Students

Users who register an account must be adults or of legal age to enter into a contract. Students only participate through activity links provided by teachers and only provide a nickname and their responses.

Teachers and schools are responsible for making sure student use complies with local laws and for obtaining parental or guardian consent where required. If you believe we have collected a child's personal information inappropriately, email us at louisyang1101@gmail.com and we will act promptly.

9. Your Rights

Depending on the laws where you live, you may have the right to access, obtain a copy of, correct, supplement, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise these rights, email us at louisyang1101@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time after verifying your identity.

10. Provision to Third Parties in Foreign Countries

The service providers we use (Supabase, Cloudflare, OpenAI, Google, Replicate, and Lemon Squeezy) are mainly located in the United States, and your personal information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries.

The United States does not currently have a comprehensive federal privacy law equivalent to Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information, but state laws and regulations enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) apply. Information on foreign data protection systems is published by Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission.

We choose providers that publish privacy policies and take protective measures equivalent to those required by Japanese law, and we ensure appropriate protection through each provider's terms of service and data processing agreements. For more information, email us at louisyang1101@gmail.com.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy and will change the "Last updated" date on this page. If a change materially affects your rights, we will notify you by email, in-app notice, or another reasonable method.
